I am calling it now, best commercial of the Superbowl this year goes to Volkswagen. If anyone remembers the now award winning 2011 commercial of the boy in the Darth Vader suit “starting” the car than you might recognize this 2012 commercial that Volkswagen I believe is airing at the Superbowl. Vader makes a real appearance in this 2012 commercial in a funny twist at the end. Besides a great storyline with the dog paralleled by a great upbeat soundtrack that puts you in a good mood, I have never seen a company twist back to a previous years commercial like Volkswagen does here, its very unique and quite funny. I believe that is what sets apart good advertising from great advertising, the ability to add that one extra kick or element that makes it that much more memorable in the consumers mind. Great two ads that play off of each other in a corky way. They TAKE THE CAKE this year in my eyes! Check them out below!
